Once you have completed your value model but before you publish your value model as a value proposition, you will need to preview your value model as a value proposition.
Previewing your value proposition gives you a way to see what your model will look like once it is published. Remember that a value proposition is the partnering of an underlying value model and its calculations with a visual template. When providing context to your value model with value communication tools such as Value Driver Messages, Variable Tags, and Tables, it is necessary to view what those elements will look like when paired with certain templates. Additionally, certain elements of a value proposition can only be edited from within a value proposition preview (see How to Use Edit Layout in a Value Proposition).
You can preview a value proposition from the Actions drop down menu next to your model on the Marketing Home Page, or from within your model using the More drop down menu. From either drop down, select the option "Preview as VP" to open the preview dialog.
Choose the template that you'd like to preview your model with using the drop down, then click OK. You can preview your model with any template available. However, some templates may be custom designed for a specific opportunity. If you are unsure of which template to use, ask your program manager.
