The (+) Value Drivers tab is the fourth tab within the value modeling module. From this tab, you can describe the specific, favorable, economic impacts that your offering's functional benefits provide to your customer. Uncovering value drivers requires a solid understanding of this customer's business model. Note that if you completed a Benefits list on the Benefits tab, it has been copied over.
For information on adding value drivers, see How to Create Value Drivers.
Once you have at least one value driver, there is another menu of options which is accessed by the down arrow to the right of the calculator icon (see below).
The key parts are:
- Re-order Variables: Click to open dialog that allows you to drag and drop variables within the value driver into a different order.
- Copy: Creates a copy of the entire value driver which can be edited. Sometimes this is more efficient than creating a new one.
- Merge: Allows you to combine two or more value drivers together. When merged, each value driver becomes a subformula that gets added together.
- Convert to Subformula: Removes value driver from list and converts it into a subformula to be used in other value drivers, comparisons or tables.
- Save to Library: (For library administrators only). Allows user to save value driver directly into a company value driver library.
- Lock Formula: Prevents users from overriding the calculation with a custom value in a Value Proposition or UVP.
- Clear Unused Custom Value/Formula: If a custom value has been added for a value driver but the formula is used, this option will remove the unused custom value. If a formula has been added for a value driver but the custom value is used, this option will remove the unused formula.
- Delete: Removes the value driver from the value model. However, the variables and subformulae remain available for re-use in the Variables sub-tab.
